At the end of this term we are having a poem recital. In class, we are learning how to present poems. We are practising speaking clearly and saying our poems with expression.
We have been learning different space poems and all the children should have these in their ABC/poem books. They need to choose one of these space poems to learn and recite off by heart. They will need to practise the poem they choose at home lots, so they can remember it and recite it clearly, confidently and with expression to an audience. Please help your child learn the poem they have chosen and help them practise reciting it with expression and appropriate volume until they can do it by themselves, off by heart. If they are having trouble with the poem they have chosen, please help them select another one they can manage, off the poems they have been given. I have given the children a range of poems so there should be something there for everyone. Thank you.
Mathletics
Dear parents.
This year our school has paid for every student to be joined up to Mathletics. This is a great opportunity for your child to practise and improve their maths knowledge and can be accessed from any computer with internet access. Every child should have a copy of their own Mathletics user name and password glued in the inside cover of their take home reading log. They need this to log on to their personal account on the site. I do hope you are able to make the most of this opportunity to support your child's Maths learning from home. If you have any queries or problems with it please see me.
